CYRIL SCOTT PIPE BAND is a traditional Scottish style pipe band. They have performed with the Chieftains in 2008, 2009 and in 2010, the Ohio State Marching Band during half time shows, including the Fiesta Bowl, the Columbus Symphony, the Columbus Pops Orchestra. The band is a perennial favorite at the Dublin Irish Festival, held in Dublin Ohio every first weekend in August.
Although we are now primarily a show band, Cyril Scott started out as a grade three competition band and placed as high as second at the World Pipe Band Championships in Glasgow, Scotland. Check out our History page to learn how we got started, where we have been and why our logo is a head on a stick!
In 2008 the band began offering free bagpipe lessons to kids in the central Ohio area. In 2009 we started to offer free drumming lessons. As a result, the band has a growing number of young musician that we see as the future of the band.
